Penticton BC Skaha Lake Wedding // Kyleigh + Bailey

I was looking forward to Kyleigh and Bailey’s wedding all year. It would be my last one of my 2019 season, and one of the very last days of summer. I woke up early to catch the sunrise and found a family of deer outside my cabin window. I had arrived in the dark the night before, so the expanse of peach sky took my breath away as I realized this is where the ceremony would take place later in the day.

My favorite kind of light dapped the property - it wasn’t hard to figure out why Kyleigh and Bailey wanted to get married here (besides both having personal ties to the property or region, as their cabins were 10 minutes away from each other as they found out later in life!). The girls getting ready were peaceful preparing for the day, and it was fun to catch the boys goofing off outside once they were ready as well,

The ceremony took place in the full sun - tantalizing glimmers on the water and emotions running high all around. Baileys reaction to Kyleigh walking down the isle basically brought me to tears! I had chills hearing them exchange vows to spend their lives loving each other.

When Kyleigh had told me she wanted some wedding photos beside the 1912 building down the road in Kaleden, I was soooo stoked!! I’d photographed a wedding next door a few years back and couldn’t wait to use the building as a backdrop again. It has lovely light and tons of open shade, which is perfect for photos in the middle of the day.

It wasn’t long before the delicious dinner was served! Speeches, performances by friends recalling childhood silliness, and a surprise dance from the bridesmaids + Kyleigh topped of the night. The dance floor was PACKED the entire evening - Kyleigh + Bailey’s community loves them and it was incredible to see how everyone came together for them on this day. Congratulations you two! Thank you for entrusting me with your wedding day - I wish we could do it all over again!
